FOSS FOSS
FOSS materials are among the most popular resources for elementary teachers, especially for those who have not yet had much experience in content and pedagogy of elementary science. Developed with support of the National Science Foundation, FOSS materials and kits are designed to meet the need for elementary science education that has meaning for both the teacher and the children. Teachers love it for its time-honored methodologies such as hands-on inquiry and interdisciplinary projects, and children are engaged through multi-sensory observation and collaborative learning groups. Administrators value the program because it is guided by recent advances in understanding how children think and learn and, thus, is developmentally appropriate.
The Institute is pleased to offer the following kits for rental and to provide the training and support for teachers.
