FOSS GEMS
GEMS (Great Explorations in Mathematics and Science) workshops are offered regularly at the Institute, which is the only official GEMS Network Site in Pennsylvania. GEMS is known as a leading resource for innovative science and mathematics education, and the Institute is pleased to offer GEMS activities that engage K-8 students in applied experience and experimentation. These are excellent workshops for elementary and middle school science and mathematics teachers to learn the advantages of researched-based materials and hands-on, easily understood instruction. Importantly, these workshops also offer strategies for infusing mathematics and science throughout the curriculum.
