JASON

The Jason Expedition, a premier real-time science teaching and learning program, is a national program that enables students and their teachers to work with field data from their own classrooms. The Jason Expedition is a supplemental, inquiry-based, science learning adventure for upper elementary, middle, and junior high students to do actual research with real scientists (without leaving the classroom). Through hands-on activities and interaction with scientists, students learn about wetland ecosystems, the impact of environment on the wetlands, human impact on wetlands, and ecosystems in the students' own neighborhood. This program is aligned with Pennsylvania's science and technology standards, correlates to major textbooks, and addresses the No Child Left Behind Legislation.

As offered by the Institute, the Jason Expedition includes a live Expedition broadcast, training and support, curriculum materials, easy-to-use CD, interactive online activities, digital labs, and interaction with renowned researchers.
