Dominion accepts grant applications (up to $5,000) to encourage the development of new programs to strengthen math and science education in kindergarten through grade 12. NEA Foundation for the Improvement of Education offers grant amounts to $5,000. Innovation grants support collaborative efforts by two or more colleagues to develop and implement creative ideas that result in high student achievement. * Should engage students in critical thinking and problem solving to deepen their knowledge of standards-based subject matter. * Should improve students' habits of inquiry, self-directed learning, and critical reflection. * Funds may be used for resource materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, software, or professional development. * Preference given to applicants who serve economically disadvantaged students. |

| ExploraVision, sponsored by Toshiba and NSTA, announces a new competition for students of all interest, skill, and ability levels in grades K-12. The purpose of the competition is to encourage students to combine their imaginations with the tools of science to create and explore a vision of future technology. Students work in groups of two, three or four, along with a team coach or optional mentor. Winners will receive EE savings bonds worth $10,000 at maturity. | |
